Then and Now

The Inside Scoop on the Museum and Town's History
Picture
A weekly update on the ins and outs of the museum. We showcase the "Artifact(s) of the Month" every 1st Wednesday. We highlight the "This Month in History..." every 2nd Wednesday. We see the sights of "Then and Now" in Sapulpa every 3rd Wednesday. And we share our moments in the museum world every 4th Wednesday. This is with our collaboration with the Sapulpa Herald for their Wednesday newspaper under the segment called "Museum Musings."

Research requests keeping coming in, and we are so thrilled. We get to see the ins and outs of what made Sapulpa, Sapulpa. It’s all the people, businesses, and culture. Other than research requests, many guests are enjoying the Sapulpa Fire Museum. It’s fun for the whole family, especially the younger members. We also had our Annual Banquet with our amazing guest speaker, Will Berry. He discussed the upcoming and beautiful Route 66 Christmas Chute coming this Winter. Please come by the museum and see us; we enjoy giving a tour of our facilities.

Next Month:
The Oklahoma Arts Institute Quartz Mountain has a travel exhibition featuring Oklahoma artists (painters and photographers). During the month of April, we will be housing the exhibition. Also, be sure to check out Sapulpa's very own artwork featured in the travel exhibit: "A Boy and His Pup" by Emma Castleberry.

Tourism:
Our furthest visitors from out of town are:
  • In Oklahoma: Yukon, Oklahoma (approx. 110 miles away)
  • In the Country: Charlotte, North Carolina (approx. 1,040 miles away)
  • In the World: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (approx. 2,260 miles away)
