Former Sapulpa Mayor (1950) and my grandfather, also Fred L,. graduated from nearby Mounds H.S. in May 1907, still Indian Territory, and trained as a teacher with Bureau of Indian Affairs and taught k-12 in Fox OK (near Seminole OK). Served as principal of Bristow HS during WWI and moved to Sapulpa after legal studies and admission to OK Bar in 1930s. Fred L. ran for Congress twice in 1930s as a Republican while FDR was president. He and Annie raised 3 children in Sapulpa: Earl, Volita and Clyde. My dad, Clyde and Virginia also raised 3 children in Sapulpa: Fred, Tom and Pat. Enjoyed formative years in Sapulpa and old Sapulpa High School.
